First homeowner

First homeowner

A first homeowner is an individual or household who is buying their first property.

In Australia if you have never owner a home before and you intend to live in it you may be eligible for government grants like the FHOG (First homeowner grant) which provides concessions or exemptions on stamp duty. These programs aim to reduce the financial burden of purchasing a first home and encourage home ownership amongst young and first home buyers.

In NSW, if you plan to buy or build your first ‘new’ home you may be eligible for the $10,000 First Home Owner Grant (FHOG).
