Application form
A home loan application form is a document that individuals or borrowers need to complete and submit to a financial institution or lender when applying for a home loan or mortgage. It is a formal request and the information included will help the lender assess the borrower’s eligibility in making a lending decision. The form will include:
Personal information: full name, contact information, date of birth, marital status etc.
Employment and income: at least three years’ employment history, current employment, annual income and any other additional bonus, commission etc.
Financial information: covers the borrowers’ financial obligations, including existing debts, assets, liabilities, along with monthly living expenses etc.
Loan details: loan amount, type of loan product (fixed rate, variable), term of the loan, any associated fees
Loan Purpose: Purchase, refinancing an existing mortgage, cash out, investment etc
Property information: address, value and property type
Credit history: the lender will request consent to check the borrowers credit history and credit score as part of the application process.
Supporting documents: identification, pay slips, work contracts, bank statements, tax returns etc
Declaration and signature: Borrower to declare that all the information listed is complete and accurate, sign and date accordingly
An effective loan application letter should only be one page long and contain no more than 6 paragraphs. The letter should highlight important information about your financial history and status, and it should be able to convince the financial lender to approve your loan application.
